AREAS OF APPLICATION OF THE METHOD OF SEISMIC ENTROPY
The method of seismic entropy from the plate-tectonic positions, is developed for the seismoactive regions of compression /Akopian S.Ts., 1998, (htm), pp.9,11/. As it was indicated in this work the physical principle of forecast, placed in the determination of the concept of seismic system, until it was not developed for the zones of spreading. For describing the zones of spreading it is necessary to change the balance of inflow, outflow and internal production of entropy open SS /see formula (13)-(14) on p.11/.
Since 96% of earthquakes on the Earth occur under compression conditions in the zones of interaction of the lithospheric plates (90% are timed to the Pacific Ocean plate and 6% to the Mediterranean-Alpine-Himalayan zone), for them it is possible to use the method of seismic entropy. Let us note that in the zones of spreading in the situation of tension are separated less than 1% total seismic energy of the Earth. On Fig.1 and 2 are given the basic lithospheric plates of the Earth and the characteristic mechanisms of strong earthquakes on their boundaries.

Fig.2. Basic types А, В, С, D of the plate boundaries and the characteristic focal mechanisms of earthquake sources.
Method of seismic entropy forecasts well strong earthquakes with the mechanisms of the type A, B, C by their combinations and it is bad - with the mechanisms D
Seismic systems on the basis of the method of seismic entropy are already revealed and can be revealed in the diffuse zones of Fig.1
In the diffuse zones are encountered strong earthquakes with the purely normal mechanisms D, but their number comprises less than 1%
